"Each time He comes to you Jesus actually leaves an imprint of Himself on your soul." Guyon
Guyon encourages her reader to live an abandoned life to God. What she means is that the one who freely gives their life to God's leading, without the need for explanation, will live from the reality of God as opposed to the knowledge of God.
But this abandonment is not an external creed to be lived in full view, and praise, of mankind. No, rather the abandonment to God must be internal as well.
That is why she teaches again and again the necessity to come before God and quiet yourself.
