The Supreme Region

"The centermost part of your being is the supreme region, the sacred temple of the Spirit, the place where God delights to abide. " Molinos

Molinos is teaching about the deep indwelling of God.

He lists the benefits of abiding there:

1. He manifest Himself to the one He created

2. He gives Himself in a way that transcends senses and human understanding

3. The Spirit master the soul

4. He instills into that place His enlightenment

To someone brought up in Evangelical circles, the phrases Molinos uses conjure up a guru on a mountain, and the threat of 'new age' influences.

But what does the Bible says?

1. It’s here in your presence, in your sanctuary,

where I learn more of your ways.

For holiness is revealed in everything you do.

Psalm 77:13

2. Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.

Psalm 23:4

3. God’s marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone. This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age.

Titus 2:11-12

4. “So listen, my sons and daughters, to everything I tell you,

for nothing will bring you more joy than following my ways.

Listen to my counsel,

for my instruction will enlighten you.

You’ll be wise not to ignore it.

If you wait at wisdom’s doorway,

longing to hear a word for every day,

joy will break forth within you as you listen for what I’ll say.

For the fountain of life pours into you every time that you find me,

and this is the secret of growing in the delight

and the favor of the Lord.

Proverbs 8:32-25

Truly God waits for us to seek Him and find Him. He waits with all we need to face our day. There is truly nothing that can take away our peace if we abide in the Supreme Region.
