Two Ears; One Mouth

"Jesus Christ is the Eternal Word. He can impart new life." Guyon

It's been said that we have two ears and one mouth, therefore we should use them proportionally. In other words; listen twice as long as you speak.

Guyon calls the act of hearing a passive sense. Ears just do what ears do; they hear. Our job is to position ourselves to hear what we need to hear.

External silence enhances our ability to silence the inward voices. It's in the inward place we hear Jesus speak. And it's He who has the words of life.

Recently I took a course on emotional healing. One of the instructors pointed out that healing isn't the end goal. New life is.

When we receive emotional healing we find peace where chaos once reigned. It's wonderful! However, if we stop there and don't grow and change how we do things, the probability of new wounding is great. We need to move into the New Life Jesus offers in order to change how we approach the circumstances that led to the wounding.

Jesus is the source of new life. In order to receive new life He must be communicated to you. He speaks, He communicates, He imparts life.

Protect your time with Jesus. Learn to love silence and solitude. It is there He dwells unhindered.

"The Lord is at the centre of your being; therefore, He must become the centre of your being."
