"The King’s daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven with gold." Psalm 45:13 nasb

I read somewhere, many years ago, to picture the words I speak over myself as my wardrobe.

What are you putting on today?

The essay challenged women to clean up their thought life. To stop self-sabotage in its tracks.

What I think becomes what I say. What I say becomes who I am.

Who are you?

I am a King's daughter. A much-loved child of God.

If God is my Father then godliness must be my wardrobe. But what is godliness?

Jeanne Guyon defines godliness as 'something that comes from God. The more you possess God, the more you are made like Him.'

But how does one possess God?

Her answer, 'walk continually before God in a state of abandonment.'

By abandonment, Guyon means surrendering your life completely to God. Give up control, give in to His will in all things. Living at this level of abandonment requires time spent in God's presence.

Daily communion. Minute by minute waiting. Breathe by breathe obedience. Godliness grown within.

Guyon teaches the outward appearance of godliness is as changeable as a garment, it is only a mask.

It is showy, draws attention, and needs validation.

But when godliness is produced in you from the Life that is deep within, then that godliness is real, lasting, and the genuine essence of the Lord.

In order to carry someone's scent, or essence, we must have close personal contact. In order to act, think and love like someone else, we must take on their passions as our own. These are clues on how to 'possess God'.

What I say over myself, who I confess to be, comes from my deepest inward part. My core beliefs. They are revealed in times of pressing. Times of pressure. If I don't like what is revealed I have the power to change. Core beliefs can change, be healed and upgraded. We do it by speaking different things over ourself. We change the wardrobe.

Affirmations are powerful. You can write your own or find them on the Internet, in books, or from podcasts. I like to find mine in the Bible. One passage I use is Ephesians Chapter One.

"God himself, the heavenly Father of Jesus Christ,

releases grace over me and imparts total well-being into my life."

Just this one sentence is enough to keep you clothed in gold all day.

Say it out loud. Write it out. Paste in on your fridge. Keep saying it until you believe it.

"Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm

has already been lavished upon me as a love gift

from my wonderful heavenly Father,

all because he sees me wrapped into Christ.

This is why I celebrate him with all my heart!"

These are some mighty fine robes to put on!

"He chose me to be his very own,

joining me to himself even before

he laid the foundation of the universe!

Because of his great love, he ordained me,

so that I would be seen as holy in his eyes

with an unstained innocence."

Be empowered to walk in your inheritance!

"For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt me as his delightful child,

so that his tremendous love that cascades over me would glorify his grace

for the same love he has for his Beloved One, Jesus, he has for me.

And I bring him great pleasure!"

You can change your core beliefs. One thought at a time. Grab these thoughts next time pressure comes to squeeze a confession out of you.

"Since I am now joined to Christ, I have been given

the treasures of redemption by his blood,

the total cancellation of my sins,

all because of the cascading riches of his grace.

This superabundant grace is already powerfully working in me,

releasing within me all forms of wisdom and practical understanding."

You are glorious within. Shine!

A Prayer:

"I now ask you, Father of glory,

to impart to me the riches of the

Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation.

I desire to deeply and intimately know You.

I wait before You knowing that Your light

will illuminate the eyes of my imagination,

flooding me with light, until I experience

the full revelation of the hope of my calling.

I see the wealth of Your glorious inheritances.

I am one of Your holy ones!"
