"Within you is a Divine Fortress, and that Divine Fortress defends, protects and fights for you." Molinos

Today's reading is so good I'm going to paraphrase/quote the whole thing.

God purges darkness, dryness, and debilitating temptations, from you soul.

"First you should know that your spirit is the very centre, the habitation, of the Kingdom of God."

The Lord reigns in perfect peace and rest in that place.

"You need to keep your heart in peace so that you may keep this inward temple of God a pure place."

"Whatever the Lord sends into your life, there is no disturbance in that place."

"For your good, and for the profit of your spirit, He will allow an envious enemy to trouble this city of rest, this throne of peace."

"Troubles come to you in the form of temptations, tribulation, and subtle suggestions. Anything, and everything of God's creation, may become involved in troubling you. There will be painful troubles and there will be grievous persecutions."

Molinos now asks the question common to the three writers:

"How can you be constant and cheered in your heart in the midst of all these tribulations?

Enter the inward realm.

There, in your inward fortress, is where you overcome the outward world.

I run to Him

I turn within
