Tradition, tradition! Tradition!

Tradition, tradition! Tradition!

In Fiddler on the Roof, Tevye sings this to each of his daughters to no avail. They each break with Tradition as they choose their life partners. Each break leaves Tevye hurt, confused and grasping for understanding.

It's painful to break from Tradition - whether you're the rule breaker or the one trying to desperately hold on.

Recently I broken from tradition: attending a certain church, performing certain duties with in that church, serving as President for the Charity I started.

I have also walked away from relationships.

My reasons are mine - for my future and my health - however it's still been hard on people I love. I know there is hurt, confusion, and misunderstanding.

And though I always want to explain and be understood, this time I feel free to make, and stick to, decisions that are right for me.

I wish I communicated more clearly - with more grace - however I now must trust God in the process; for myself and for those I love.

Why did I walk away?

To grow; to heal; to prepare for what's next in my life. To fix my mind on Christ's calling and purpose; to live out of my passion and purpose.

In the words of Seneca, "Every new beginning comes at some other beginnings end."
