Happy first Monday in March!
I'm diligently working on my YA novel: Anna Wells and the Mystery of the Dusty Duchess.
When the real Dusty/Duchess first came into our lives I promised her that one day I would write her story.
I began in 2012 but never quite got her to print. But this is the year!
I'm in partnership with TellWell, an assisted publishing company in Canada. I'm very impressed with their passion and professionalism. So now I'm deep in the HARD WORK of editing my manuscript before submitting.
I truly want this to be my best work so I'm fleshing out the heroine: Anna Wells.
According to Imaginative Writing by Janet Burroway an effective way to develop a full character is by revealing what they desire.
"yearning or determination is what makes us catch our breath, hope for the best, fear the worst, and in short identify with what is, after all, a series of little squiggly lines on a page."
So who is Anna Wells and what does she want?
Anna Wells is a passionate 13 year old horse girl who wants to find out who starved Dusty/Duchess and bring them to justice.
